#4738 EVALUATION OF BONE MINERAL STATUS WITH DUAL-ENERGY X-RAY ABSORPTIOMETRY AND QUANTITATIVE COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN CHRONIC RENAL DISEASE

Abstract Background and Aims Mineral bone disease (BMD) is one of the common complications advanced chronic kidney (CKD). Fracture risk could be predicted by densitometry using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) quantitative computed tomography (QCT). This study aims to evaluate effectiveness imaging techniques in diagnosing BMD CKD patients healthy subjects. Method We performed control cross-sectional single center Turkey between 2019, 2022. evaluated two groups aged 18-50 years. Patients groups; consisted with stage 4 -5 disease, healty participants. The status thirty-three participants was both cQCT DXA. Diagnostic discordance assessed lumbar spine femoral neck from DXA cQCT. Results Thirty-eight were included 33 median age 44 years (range 22-50) patient's group (33% female), 42 27-48) controls (55% female). Baseline variables outlined Table 1. Using T score cQCT; incidence osteopenia or osteoporosis not statistically different patient (for DXA; neck, p: 0,62 0,61 respectively, for p:0,8 0,73 respectively). Regarding spine, diagnosed more frequently compared QCT [6 (40%) vs 3 (20%), p = 0,01]. Three 6 (50%) as having normal QCT. There no statistical difference methods group. results whole cohort summarized 2. Conclusion According our result, young middle-aged 4-5 CKD, DEXA might overdiagnosis
